Olympic Gold Medalist David Boudia Signs as

Lafayette Savings Bank Spokesperson

Lafayette, IN – October 8, 2012 - Olympic gold medalist and Indiana native David Boudia, has signed a contract to be the spokesperson for Lafayette Savings Bank in Lafayette, Indiana.

Boudia won the 10-meter platform diving competition gold medal and the 10-meter synchronized diving bronze medal in last summer’s London Olympics. He will appear in print and viral advertising and make public appearances representing the locally owned community bank.

“Choosing a spokesperson is about aligning our brand of core values with someone who has proven his or her character,” said Randolph F. Williams, President and CEO of Lafayette Savings Bank. “David Boudia represents our values of commitment, integrity, responsibility, initiative and respect. David is a humble, focused, charismatic young man, and we are most grateful and delighted to have him join the team at Lafayette Savings Bank."

Boudia ended a gold medal drought for the United States with his dramatic last dive victory by 1.8 points over Qiu Bo of China in the 10-meter platform competition at the London Olympics. His medal is the first gold in diving for the U.S. since 2000 when Laura Wilkinson won a surprise gold in Sydney. It was the first by an American man since the late Mark Lenzi won the 3-meter springboard at the 1992 Barcelona Games.

“I appreciate LSB’s focus on serving the community. I have prided myself as someone who cares about my neighbors and fellow Hoosiers (and Boilermakers). When I decided to buy a house, I was unsure of the process and how I would be treated as a first-time homeowner. But the team at LSB treated me like family. I am proud to be their spokesperson and equally proud to be their customer!”

Boudia is a Purdue University student majoring in Communication. John Purdue founded Lafayette Savings Bank in 1869, the same year he established Purdue University. Williams said, “The bank and Boudia are a good fit.”

Boudia is represented by PMG Sports, who represents 150 current and former Olympic icons.
